Hello! I’m Rein and I’m a comic artist and freelance illustrator based in London. After graduating my course in Illustration Animation, I have consistently self published graphic novels and worked with different clients to bring stories to life! I particularly love exploring topics around queerness, nostalgia and human connection in my work both narratively and visually. 

 

Though having kick-started my career relatively recently, I have received steady recognition within the UK indie comic scene. My two main works include ‘My Taxidermy Angel’ and ‘Tidal Waves’, two self contained graphic novellas that have been featured and promoted across different comic shops across the UK. I have especially collaborated closely with ‘Gosh Comics’ running featured book signings at ‘Gosh Fest’ and being invited to be a guest artist for their ‘Drink and Draw’ events. 

 

I have been awarded a micro bursary by Thought Bubble in 2025 and invited to attend their event; alongside being short listed in the travelling man's annual comic competition the same year.  My work has also been consistently reviewed by ‘Broken Frontiers’, being nominated for their top ‘six to watch’ list in 2025.

 

Alongside my comics and zines, I sell paper back goods, stationeries and handmade knick knacks at conventions and art fairs. Since 2024 I have travelled across the UK, featuring my works at events such as Thought Bubble, MCM, Megacon, Hyper Japan and more! The convention scene has brought me great community and I always enjoy getting to chat with other artists and having the opportunity to connect with more readers, especially those from a marginalized queer background.
